Brokers rom across the United Kingdom have identified data breaches as one of the single and largest threat to insurers and their clients. Findings published by risk law firm BLM in the year 2018 indicated that 88% of brokers witnessed data breaches as one major key to their customers. One of the BML partners stated that the proliferation of customer data has been a growing threat for quite some time and it is fair to say that the general data protection regulation being in place will only be sending major concerns to businesses, both large and small. Another expected issue that could present itself very soon is an increase in employment tribunal claims following a decision made by the Supreme Court to remove fees, which is associated with claim making. Despite being anticipated that the numbers could significantly increase, only a small percentage of businesses involved had already reviewed their practices in light of the ruling.
